I've been sailing from the age of 9. My parents put me on a sailing course as soon as a sailing club was established in my home town. They thought it might be something for me. How right they were!

When I was about 12 they bought a little boat for me to use. That was changed for a laser which was a bit to heavy for me but still a lot of fun. When I left home for college is was sold.

Since there was no water close to my new home town I had no boat for two years. But after this I moved to a town that had water in abundance. I bought my first own boat, again a laser. Had great fun with it.

Again I moved, no more sailing for quite some time. I studied, started a business. Got busy. (this sentence covers 8 years)

Got stressed, bought a boat to relax. My first cabin cruiser, a Waarschip 600, a plywood 3 bunk boat. After a do her up winter and tw seasons I decided she ws a bit too small and decided to sell.

I bought a bigger boat, a Waarschip 725 (quarter tonne), the bigger sister of the 600. With the bigger boat I found myself drawn to bigger waters. And with bigger waters came the need for self steering. As there was no system that would fit my boat that had a centrally mounted outboard engine I started to develop my own. At first this was just for my own use but soon I thought that there should be more sailors that had this specific problem and decided to see if I could market it.
