I am in the process of removing the old teak veneer deck from my boat. I knew this had to be done when I bought the boat and I knew it was going to be a lot of work. As it turned out I didn't have a clue...

One sunday I ended up in a big shower. Somehow I had been able to avoid sailing in the rain, just sailing in the rain, what a wo... Sorry, got side tracked, for a long time so it felt a bit strange after all this time.

Normally I feel very much aware of my surroundings and what is going on. But a break in routine may easily set something new in motion.

Last season my lifejacket and Binoculars got stolen out of a crate as I was taking stuff to the boat at the beginning of the season. I didn't want to be without eiter one so I replaced them.

Two seasons ago I was returning from a lovely day of sailing. It had been sunny all day and there still was a nice gentle breeze. I could hear the small waves comming of the bow.

I always take a lot of tools with me. I want to be sure to have all my tools with me (oh utopia) so at some point I bought the biggest toolchest that I could find. It has an extendable handle and a set of wheels to drag it behind you with relative ease.

I went to the boat today.

After just half an hour the last part of the old exhaust was removed. Almost an entire day to do lots of other stuff!

Not.

Here in Holland it will no longer be allowed to flush the big stuff that ends up in a toilet out of the boat. So this means it has to be taken off the boat somehow. Big dicussions are taking place on how to do this and of course, how effective a measure like this will actually be.

It is a bit of a strange feeling. I'm going to say goodbye to my beloved Iduna. Last season I had two boats but that is a bit too much trouble.

So it is time to sell the smaller one.
